Telling us of a restaurant, offering German cuisine, that's build into what used to be a carriage house, is a nice little addition to the lore of this nonexistent place. In the spirit of selling us a fake vineyard as a vacation spot, Emil did a great job of creating an attractive composition that could be sold as postcards at the entrance.Īpart from the historic backstory of Stone Hill and the overall fancy composition, we also see a nice looking farm in the pictures. Stone Hill sounds very inviting, certainly worth the drive if it was a real place - after all, we are promised a complimentary tour with juicy tastings. "Mountain Grew" sounds delicious, by the way. There was potential to deepen this artistic feeling with the description - instead we got a rather sorrowful backstory with a grandfather, whose fate is quite sad - but that's life. But, take an even closer look: Instead of just putting a cropped picture on a white background, you can see a texture - as if the pictures were printed on canvas, ready to hang them on the wall in the living-room. While the motives themselves are pretty simple and depict a hilly grassland with some grape farming going on, the devil, making second place, lies in the details.Įxtremely atmospheric lighting and subtle color grading, and giving the scenery more space by choosing an extra-wide format, creates a visually impressive landscape.
